Draft Presidential Decree on Central Asia Smart City announced
It is planned to build the Central Asia Smart City on an area of 6,400 hectares in the Ahangaran district of Tashkent region. The draft presidential decree on this has been published for public discussion.
It is noted that the project is aimed at creating a leading technological hub in the Tashkent region and will be implemented in stages over the period 2025-2035.
According to the project, the Central Asia Smart City will be built as a free economic, trade, industrial, logistics and financial center on an area of 6,400 hectares. At the initial stage, 500 hectares of land will be allocated, where a financial center, logistics infrastructure and strategic construction work will be carried out. The remaining 5,900 hectares of land will be developed in stages.
The joint venture Going Investment LLC has been designated as the main initiator and management company of the project. In addition, France's Byuro Veritas Consulting Co., Japan's Ainergy Co. Ltd, Turkey's ND İmar İnşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş. companies and the Economic Assembly of Uzbekistan will participate as project partners.
The project plans to attract direct investments in the amount of 10 billion US dollars and create 150 thousand new jobs. Based on the Smart & Green City concept, a modern living and business environment for 200 thousand people will be created in the Central Asia Smart City.
The master plan and master plan for the Central Asia Smart City will be developed by the Turkish company ND İmar İnşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş. It is planned to build energy, transport, communications, green energy, education and scientific centers based on high technologies in the region.
The project also envisages the establishment of the "International University of Science and Technology" (with a campus for 75 thousand people).
The region will be equated to the status of a special economic zone for investment activities, including tax and customs privileges, currency and labor preferences.
Discussion of the draft resolution will continue until November 10.
